About us
Northfield Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined area within which the local business community works together to deliver additional projects and services that improve the business environment and the experiences of visitors.
The issues and opportunities that affect our businesses provide the driving force for this initiative that aims to promote and improve the town centre. The BID (pronounced ‘bid’) does not duplicate or replace statutory services, for example those provided by the council or police.
Northfield BID is operated by a not-for-profit company, led by a board of business directors representing different sectors.
The BID is funded by a fair and transparent levy of 1.7% on the rateable value of each property, with levies capped at £10,000. With income from BID levy, income generation activities and the reserves from the previous BID term, the BID Company will aim to generate approximately £630,000 over the new BID five-year term (January 2022 - December 2026), at the end of the BID3 term, eligible businesses within the Northfield BID boundary will have the opportunity to renew BID products and services for a further BID term, through a postal ballot.
