Northfield Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined area within which the local business community works together to deliver additional projects and services that improve the business environment and the experiences of visitors.
The issues and opportunities that affect our businesses provide the driving force for this initiative that aims to promote and improve the town centre. The BID (pronounced ‘bid’) does not duplicate or replace statutory services, for example those provided by the council or police.
Northfield BID is operated by a not-for-profit company, led by a board of business directors representing different sectors.
The BID is funded by a fair and transparent levy of 1.6% on the rateable value of each property, with levies capped at £10,000. We will generate an additional investment of £500,000 over our five-year term (1st January 2017 - 31st December 2021), at the end of which businesses will have the opportunity to vote again.
